How can I obtain a permit to serve alcohol?

In order to serve alcohol on City property, you need to reserve a City-owned facility or park and submit an application for an alcohol permit at least 30 days prior to the event. Cash bars are not allowed and an off-duty police officer will need to be present at events serving alcohol at recreation centers.

To serve beer at your neighborhood block party, an alcohol permit is required. If you plan to block off a street you need to obtain a Traffic Control Permit. For additional information on how to obtain a traffic control permit, call the Infrastructure Department at 720-977-6234 or visit the Thornton Building, Contractor, Development, and Infrastructure Applications webpage.

For additional instructions and other information on how to apply for an alcohol permit to block off a street, call the City Clerk’s Office at 303-538-7230 or visit the Licensing & Permits page.

For information on how to reserve a City facility or park pavilion, visit the Parks and Recreation webpage.
