How do I obtain a liquor license?
In order to sell alcoholic beverages at an establishment, approval from both the City of Thornton and State of Colorado is required.
A new license application must first be scheduled for consideration by Thornton’s Local Licensing Authority at a public hearing. If the application is approved by the City, then it must also be acted on by the State Liquor Enforcement Division. Classes of retail liquor licenses include, but are not limited to, hotel and restaurant, tavern, beer and wine, club, retail liquor store, and 3.2 beer.
