Is there a way to get a building permit while I wait?
Thornton offers a “Fast Friday” permit service from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays only. Applicants must come to the Building Permit Counter at 9500 Civic Center Drive to submit their application. Permits are available for decks, patio covers, sheds, fences, and basement finish projects only. The review process typically takes 30 to 45 minutes.
