Community Service is a sentencing option that may be recommended by a prosecutor and ordered by the judge. Community service is often an option offered to juveniles under the age of 16. Community Service guidelines require the defendant to work a specific number of hours ordered by the judge at any non-profit organization. 

Eligible non-profit organizations would include church, school, food bank, shelter, parks/street side cleanup, or an animal shelter. You may do this service for an elderly or disabled person in your neighborhood.
