For Thornton residents who need to register as a sex offender for the first time, please contact the Detective Division at 720-977-5030 to set up an appointment with a detective. To re-register as a sex offender, please contact the Detective Division to schedule an appointment as well at 720-977-5030. New and re-activation registers are $75.00 and quarterly and yearly re-registrations are $25.00. Cash or card is accepted and photo ID is required. Appointments may be scheduled on-line or by calling the hotline at 720-977-5077.
Penalties for failure to comply with mandatory sex offender registration are substantial. In most cases, violation of the registration requirement constitutes a separate offense.
