How can I learn about sexual assault prevention?
The Thornton Police Department conducts sexual assault prevention seminars upon request. Self-protection involves: crime prevention, which entails identifying risks and situations where a crime could occur and initiating actions to reduce or eliminate the possibility of a crime occurring. Sexual assault prevention also includes getting the facts about sexual assault perpetrators, staying alert, and trusting your instincts. Seminars cover being safe in your home, walking, driving, and what to do if an encounter does take place.
