Is there support for relatives raising children?

The Active Adult Center co-hosts monthly support groups for grandparents and others that are raising a child that is not biologically their own. Beyond sharing successes, challenges, and parenting stories, these support groups include educational presentations and resources that can assist you with legal, financial, academic, mental health, self-care, and other health supports.

Groups meet the second Thursday of each month at the Margaret Carpenter Recreation Center, 11151 Colorado Blvd, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. A continental breakfast and child care are provided. Groups are free to attend. A full day annual Relatives Raising Children Conference supplements the support groups and is hosted every fall. For more information on the support groups or conference, call 303-255-7850.
