In general, residents are responsible for maintaining the area between their property line and the edge of the street. Sometimes that area is maintained by a homeowners' association.  Other areas are maintained by the adjoining business. In a few cases, city maintenance crews are responsible for maintaining the area.

It is often difficult to determine who is responsible for maintenance. When in doubt, submit a My Thornton request and the concern will be routed to the appropriate department.
