The Parks & Forestry Division recycles all of the tree branches that are pruned in the city parks. These branches are chipped up into wood mulch that is used in the park system as well as made available to the public. This mulch is available at no cost to the residents of Thornton and is located just inside the gate at 8651 Colorado Blvd. where the signs are posted. Residents are limited to one pick-up load that must be hand-shoveled. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Environmental Services Division of the Infrastructure Department offers a tree branch recycling program to the residents of Thornton. For additional information, visit our Trash & Recycling page or call 720-977-6200.
