Do you have a concrete issue?

The city maintains approximately 1,400 miles of concrete sidewalk, curb, gutter and accessible ramps.  All damaged concrete and locations are entered into a Concrete Database in order to track and repair issues based on severity and budget.  The Concrete Database rating system is based on four criteria; Pedestrian hazard, Structural damage, Drainage problem, and Surface condition.  The pedestrian hazard is based on trip hazards and a pedestrian’s ability to pass safely, Structural damage is in reference to cracks and broken concrete panels and the extent of damage, the Drainage problem accounts for the depth and surface area of the ponding water, finally the Surface Condition takes into consideration the surface smoothness, and joint condition.  These four ratings are put into a formula that produces a rating of 1 through 10; with 1 being the worst and 10 being concrete with minor distresses.

To report a concrete issue, contact the Streets department at 720-977-6464, via email at streetsdept@ThorntonCO.gov, or submit a request.
