What boards and commissions does the city have to advise the City Council?

There are currently nine boards and commissions advising the City of Thornton. 

  • Building Code Advisory Board (BCAB)
  • Businesses of Thornton Advisory Commission (BTAC)
  • Development Permits and Appeals Board (DPAB)
  • Election Commission
  • Firefighters’ Old Hire Pension Board
  • Local Licensing Authority (LLA)
  • Parks and Open Space Advisory Commission (POSAC)
  • Thornton Active Adult Board (TAAB)
  • Thornton Arts, Sciences and Humanities Council, Inc. (TASHCO)

The responsibilities, powers, terms of office, membership size, qualifications, and meeting schedule varies for each board and commission.
