What are the rules for displaying temporary signs next to city streets?

Category: Temporary Signs

Temporary signs may be displayed in the public rights-of-way beginning at 5 a.m. on Fridays until 7 a.m. of the following Monday. The public rights-of-way is the area along the City streets between the curb and the property line.

Signs must be placed at least 50 feet away from any intersection and at least five feet from the curb or edge of the roadway. Signs may not be larger than six square feet in size, and may not block a street or sidewalk or be placed in a median or roundabout. Signs may not be attached to trees, poles, fences, utility boxes, or other signs.

There are different requirements for signs displayed on private party. For additional information, contact the Code Compliance staff at 303-538-7517.
