What are AEDs?

AED stands for Automatic External Defibrillator. Often seen in buildings, schools, airports and places of gathering. AEDs are medical devices used when a person goes into cardiac arrest. They provide a shock that can, in conjunction with efficient CPR, restart a person’s heart. AED units can be recognized by a placard that sticks out from the wall and is normally in a glass case.
